Vladimirov Ivan Alekseevich

Vladimirov Ivan Alekseevich (1869, Vilnius - 1947, Leningrad).

Honored Artist of the RSFSR. He studied at the Vilna Drawing School with I.P. Trutnev (1888), at the Academy of Arts (1891-1897) with B.P. Villevalde, A.D. Kivshenko, F.A. Rubo. Received encouragement medals in 1891 and 1893. In 1897 he received the title of class artist of the first degree. In 1897 he worked in Paris in the workshop of E. Detaille. As a correspondent artist he was on the fronts of the Balkan, Japanese and World War I. Member of the art associations ORS (1913-1918), TPHV (1916-1918), AHRR-AKhR (1923-1929), Society named after. A.I. Kuindzhi. Painter, graphic artist, watercolorist. Author of military sketches, battle and historical-revolutionary paintings, landscapes. Lived and worked in Vilna and St. Petersburg-Leningrad. Been to Crimea and the Caucasus. Participant of exhibitions since 1893. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, and the Museum of the Revolution in St. Petersburg.
