Vlasova Sarra Ivanovna

Graphic artist, painter. Member of the Azerbaijan Society of Workers of Revolutionary Fine Arts (AzORRIIS; 1930–1934), the Union of Artists of the USSR. She studied at the Tiflis Academy of Arts (1923–1929) with E. E. Lanseray, E. M. Tatevosyan, I. A. Charlemagne. Lived in Baku. She was engaged in easel and book graphics. She designed and illustrated books for Baku publishing houses: “Azerneshr”, “AS USSR Academy of Sciences”, Detyunizdat. Designed the following publications: “A Book about Oil” by V. Boldovkin (1934; together with M. A. Vlasov), “The Tale of a Loser Mosquito” by N. A. Bogoyavlensky (1936), “Who Lives Well in Rus'” by N. A. Nekrasov (1952), “Grandfather Arkhip and Lyonka” by A. M. Gorky (1953), fairy tales “Shangulum, Shangulyum, Mangulyum” (1954), “The Fox and the Crane” (1961), “Dirty Chicken” by Y. Hasanbeyli (1962). Together with M. A. Vlasov she created a number of posters: “Russian Bayonet” (1943), “30 Years of the Soviet Army” (1948). They completed the cycles of gouaches and watercolors: “Oil Landscapes” (1950–1957), “Guardian of the World” (1965). Since 1926 - participant of exhibitions. She exhibited her works at exhibitions: the 4th republican exhibition of works by women artists of Azerbaijan for March 8 (1944), the 6th creative exhibition of women artists of Azerbaijan for the day of March 8 (1946), an exhibition of posters of Azerbaijani artists (1950), republican art exhibitions (1955, 1958, 1963) in Baku, All-Union art exhibition (1952) in Moscow.
