Painter. One of the founders of modern art in Central Asia. He studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1908–1910) with V.E. Makovsky, as well as at the Kiev Art School (1912–1916) with F.G. Krichevsky. Lived in Tashkent. In 1927–1930 he was a member of the local association “Masters of the New East”. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Oriental Arts.
