Painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. He studied at the Sverdlovsk Art School (1937 - 39) and IR (Institute of Painting, Culture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin of the All-Russian Academy of Arts) (1945 - 51) with A.A. Mylnikova, V.M. Oreshnikova. Participant of exhibitions since 1952. Among his works: “A.S. Serafimovich at P.P. Bazhov" (1953), "Delivered to your home" (1954), "People, be careful!" (“Julius Fuchik”, 1956-57), “The Forty-First Year” (1958, Sverdlovsk Art Gallery), “Cherry Bird” (1958, ibid.), “Portrait of the Blacksmith I. Nikiforov” (1958), “in the Northern Urals” (1958), “Olkhon Fishermen” (1959), “Ya.M. Sverdlov talks with residents of the Turukhansk region" (Ya.M. Sverdlov Museum, Sverdlovsk), "Ya.M. Sverdlov in Nevyansk" (1959), "Bird cherry" (1960, Sverdlovsk Art Gallery), landscapes of the Crimea (1961), "Crossing" (1964), "On Kolchak" (1967). Paintings by B.V. Volkov's works are in private collections in Russia and abroad: England, France, Italy, Germany.
