Волков Е.Е.

Volkov Efim Efimovich (1844, St. Petersburg - 1920, Petrograd).

Russian landscape painter, academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1899), full member of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1895), member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions (since 1879). He studied at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (graduated in 1866), then at the Imperial Academy of Arts as a freelance student (1867-1870). He participated in academic exhibitions (1870), exhibitions of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts (1874-1889), the Moscow Society of Art Lovers (1884-1911), exhibitions of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions (from 1878 to 1918). He exhibited at international exhibitions in London (1872, received a bronze medal), Paris (1878), Chicago (1893), Munich (1895, 1909, 1913), Berlin (1896), Rome (1911), as well as at the All-Russian Art and Industrial Exhibition in Moscow (1882) and the Industrial and Agricultural Exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod (1896). He held solo exhibitions in St. Petersburg in 1902 and 1918. Volkov's works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, as well as in many regional Russian museums. Besides, the works are kept in private collections in Russia and abroad.
