Honored Artist (since 1980), People's Artist of Russia (2005). In the 1930s studied at the art studio of Kalinin with N.Ya. Borisov, a former student of I.E. Repina. In 1939 he entered the Leningrad Academy of Arts. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (since 1958). The first personal exhibition took place in 1955. The works are in the Tver Art Gallery, as well as in many other museums.
