Volodin Mikhail Filippovich

Painter, public figure, organizer of the Lyalovo (Moscow region) folk art gallery, participant in the creation of other folk galleries in the RSFSR. Studied in 1934-1938. in the preparatory classes of the Academy of Arts in Leningrad with A.D. Zaitsev and V.M. Oreshnikov, in 1938-1948. - at the Moscow State Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov with S. V. Gerasimov, A. A. Osmerkin, I. I. Chekmazov. Participant of art exhibitions since 1942. Main works: “Test trip to the collective farm” (1949, Simferopol Art Museum), “Removing peat to the fields” (1950, Yakut Republican Museum of Fine Arts), “At the great construction site (Kuibyshev hydroelectric power station)” under the direction of P. P. Sokolov-Skal (1951, Simferopol Art Gallery), “Panorama of construction Kuibyshev Hydroelectric Power Plant" (1956, Tretyakov Gallery), "Concert at a construction site" (1957, Museum of Fine Arts of the Tatar ASSR), "For the happiness of children (Peace Congress in Moscow)" (1967, KhF RSFSR), "Farewell to the Russian winter" (1970, KhF RSFSR), "Saving paintings of the Dresden Gallery" (1978, Central Museum USSR Armed Forces). From 1942 until his death in 1987, M.F. Volodin participated in all All-Union and Republican exhibitions held in Moscow and Leningrad. In the 1980s, the artist’s paintings, mainly landscapes, were exhibited at exhibitions and sales abroad and were purchased by private collectors in England, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, China and the USA, including the Museum of Soviet Art in Minnesota (USA). M.F. Volodin was one of the founders of folk art galleries, the so-called “Small Tretyakov Gallery”. With his participation, such galleries were created in the Moscow region as “Lyalovo” (Solnechnogorsk district), “Voronovo” (Podolsk region) and others. Works by M.F. Volodin are in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Museum of the Revolution of the USSR, the Central Museum of the Soviet Army, the Museum of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Simferopol Art Museum, the Yakut Republican Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Fine Arts in Kazan, the art museums of Smolensk, Vyborg, Ulyanovsk and also in many other museums in Russia and the CIS.
