Soviet artist, painter. In 1948 he graduated from the Kostroma Art School. Since 1956 he lived and worked in Kirov. In 1968 he was accepted as a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The artist's first personal exhibition took place in 1992. In 2007, Vopilov was awarded the honorary title “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.” The artist’s works are in the collections of regional museums, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
