Vorobyov Valentin Ilyich (1938, Bryansk)

Nonconformist artist of the first call. Consistent abstractionist. Since 1958, he studied at VGIK with V.A. Favorsky and Yu.I. Pimenova. In 1961, he was expelled for “professional unsuitability” and organized an exhibition of independent artists in Tarusa. Creates the first "geometric abstractions". Engaged in book illustration. In 1967 he took part in an exhibition of twelve artists at the Druzhba club. In 1974 - participant in the “Bulldozer” and “Izmailovskaya” exhibitions. Since 1975 he has lived in France. Author of the acclaimed books of memoirs “Enemy of the People” and “Graphomaniac”.
