Academician. In 1880–1884 studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under P.P. Chistyakov, took watercolor lessons from I.E. Repina. I especially appreciated I.K. Aivazovsky and V.M. Vasnetsova. Member of the World of Art association, since 1903 – founding member of the Union of Artists. The artist’s works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in many museums in Russia.
