Vyrzhikovsky Edward Yakovlevich

Russian and Soviet painter, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists (until 1992— the Leningrad Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR). In 1954 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin with the qualification of an artist of painting. He participated in exhibitions since 1952, exhibiting his works together with the works of the leading masters of fine art of Leningrad. In 1957, he became a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. He took an active part in All-Union and international exhibitions, fulfilling government orders. In 2001, Edward Yakovlevich was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. His works are in galleries and private collections in Russia, Great Britain, Venezuela, China, the USA, Germany, Italy, Finland, Japan and other countries.
