Yakubovsky Pavel Gerontievich

Participated in exhibitions since 1912. While serving in the army from 1914 to 1922. fate threw him all over Russia from Odessa to Manchuria. And all the time, if possible, he made sketches, watercolors, etudes. Of course, not everything has been preserved. Returning to Novonikolaevsk, he works as a decorator, theater artist, joins the AHRR (Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia), participates in exhibitions in Novosibirsk and Moscow, and works in magazines as a graphic artist. During the period of rapid construction in the 30s, his interests expanded - he also worked as an architect. For example, he participates in a competition for the design of the Opera House. Projects for a number of public buildings were developed in the style of “constructivism” - the House of Soviets in Irkutsk, a club in Ulal (Gorno-Altaisk), a bridge across the Tom. The industrial fervor of those years was reflected in a number of commissioned works dedicated to the Kuznetsk Metallurgical Plant.
