Outstanding Soviet artist, painter, teacher; painted thematic paintings, portraits and landscapes, and tried her hand at propaganda art. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. The wife of the famous painter Georgy Ryazhsky. Olga Yanovskaya studied at a private art studio in Kyiv (1916). From 1922 she lived and worked in Moscow, where she attended classes at the studio of Ilya Mashkov (from 1923), the central studio of the Academy of Arts (1928–1929). She has participated in exhibitions of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia since 1926. Member of the Academy of Artists since 1929. She took part in Moscow, republican and all-Union exhibitions, including the exhibition “Fifteen Years of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army” (Moscow, 1933), political posters and the mass painting “Us and Theirs” (Leningrad, 1938). Yanovskaya taught at the Moscow Printing Institute. The works of O. D. Yanovskaya are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, many regional museums,
