The great Belarusian painter, student of the famous Yudel Pan, is Pyotr Yavich. Since 1926, the artist lived in Vitebsk, the cultural capital of Belarus. It was then that he and his parents moved here from Hungary. A devotee of classical realism, Petr Yavich knows how to find beauty in every living corner of nature, in the faces of people, in the objects of everyday life. The artist’s works have traveled almost the entire globe, and everywhere they have been appreciated as paintings by a true master of brush and canvas. One of his works, the portrait “Girl in Blue,” is kept in the Tretyakov Gallery.
