Sculptor and monumental artist, Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of the Prize named after. A.A. Deineki. Native c. Maloe Perekopnoye, Saratov province. He graduated from the Saratov Art School in 1950, and in 1959 from the Faculty of Theory and History of Art of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. Repina. Author of a memorial sign in honor of the founding of the city of Zheleznogorsk (in collaboration with V.P. Semenikhin and V.V. Kapustin, see illustration for the article Zheleznogorsk). In 1967, in collaboration with the Kursk architect V.P. Semenikhin, he created a project for a monument in honor of Arab-Soviet friendship for the city of Aswan (Egypt), which won an honorable second place in the competition, losing primacy to the project of the sculptor E. Neizvestny. Z., in collaboration with V.V. Kapustin, is also the author of the stele “To the Heroes of Kursk”, installed on May 9, 1966 on Red Square of Kursk (on the day of the 50th anniversary of Soviet power on November 7, 1967, at a crowded meeting, a capsule with a letter to the Kursk residents of 2017 was inserted into the left end of the stele, which was removed from there in the early 1990s), and the monument to “Fighters for Soviet Power in Kursk” (co-authored with V.V. Kapustin), erected on November 6, 1972 on Soviet Square (on the corner of Dzerzhinsky and Lunacharsky streets) on the site of the former Gigant cinema, in which Soviet power in the Kursk province was proclaimed on November 26, 1917. The monumental part of the stele “Fighters for Soviet Power” is made in the form of a symbolic flagpole with a rising (or falling) banner. On the granite slabs of the stele, 81 names of those killed in the struggle for the establishment of Soviet power in the period from 1917 to 1922 are carved. In 1974, Z. visited Italy. Impressions from Venice and Verona resulted in a series of beautiful watercolors. His mosaic panels “October 1917” and “Labor” decorate the facade of the administration building of the Central District of Kursk, and the mosaic panel “Sport” decorates the facade of the Maryino sanatorium. The walls of several regional houses of culture in the Kursk region, two hotels in Kursk, and a conference hall of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant are decorated using the marquetry technique. Z.'s paintings are kept today in the Kursk Regional Art Gallery named after. A. A. Deineka, in the Directorate of Exhibitions of the Union of Artists of Russia, in the Kursk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the Kaliningrad Art Gallery and other museums, in private collections in Russia and abroad. Z. is also the author of the panels “Youth” (1974), “Timonya” (1974), “Kursk” (1980); tapestries “Timonya” (1976), “In the United Family” (1983), “Victory” (1984) and many other paintings. From 1954 to the present day, Z.'s works have been successfully exhibited at exhibitions. His paintings participated in art exhibitions in Moscow (1954, 1985, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005), St. Petersburg (2003), Krasnoyarsk (1983), Lipetsk (1982, 2003), Kazan (1977), Voronezh (1984, 1989, 2003, 2004) and other cities of Russia; They were also abroad: at exhibitions of works by Kursk artists in Hungary (Vesprém, Balaton-Füred, 1982) and Germany (Speyer, 1995), the “Russian School” exhibition in the cities of France (1992), “Europastel” in Italy (Piedmont, 2002).
