Theater costume designer, fashion designer. Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, full member of the Russian Academy of Humanities and Arts, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, professor of the department of clothing and footwear modeling at Moscow Textile University, honorary citizen of the cities of Ivanovo and Paris. Graduated from the Moscow Textile Institute, Faculty of Applied Arts (1962). He is the creator of the country's first Fashion Theater. He created costumes for theater and pop artists, members of sports delegations, and world figure skating champions. Worked on creating costumes for famous musicals and performances around the world. Author of several books on fashion issues (“Such a changeable fashion”, “This many-sided world of fashion”). Awards: medal “For Labor Valor”, Order “Badge of Honour”, medal “Veteran of Labor”, State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art 1995, Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” IV degree, Prize of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art 2003. His works were exhibited in prestigious art galleries, took part in exhibitions in Russia, USA, Canada, Japan, France, Italy, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Poland, Finland, India, Germany, Turkey, Sweden, Brazil, Belgium, etc.
