Zhukov Nikolai Nikolaevich (1908, Moscow - 1973, Moscow).

People's Artist of the USSR. Corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts. Laureate of USSR State Prizes in 1943 and 1951. Schedule. He studied at the Nizhny Novgorod City Art and Industrial College (1926-1928) and the Saratov Industrial College (1928-1930) with B.V. Milovidov and P.S. Utkina. He was a member of OMAHR. From 1943 to 1973 was the artistic director of the studio. M.B. Grekova. Author of works on historical and revolutionary themes, numerous series “Leninian”, “Nuremberg Trials”, “Shadows of the Past”, a series of graphic portraits of Soviet writers. Since the early 1930s. illustrated and designed books for leading Soviet publishing houses: Goslitizdat, Detizdat, Young Guard, Pravda. He made advertising posters for the All-Union Chamber of Commerce, created political posters and propaganda leaflets during the war, and drawings for postage stamps. Participant of exhibitions since 1929. Regular exhibitor of all-Union and foreign exhibitions. Personal exhibitions of N.N. Zhukov took place regularly in Moscow from the 1940s to the 1960s. Works by N.N. Zhukov are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, and in all regional museums.
