News & Events

On April 16 SOVCOM gallery held an auction dedicated to the World War Two.

There were more than 100 lots were presented at the Auction, been the works by eminent Soviet masters, such as A.A. Plastov, G.G. Nissky, W.K. Bialynicky-Birulia, S.V. Gerasimov, A.D. Drevin, N.A. Udaltsova, N.M. Romadin, V.I. Ivanova, P.P. Ossovsky and A.T. Zverev among those. 80 of 100 works has been sold, while just 20 been taken out from sale as not reaching the reserve price. For many of the art connoisseurs and collectors, gathered together at the Auction hall, this visit to our Auctions was not the first one. The bargaining traditionally started with the graphic works by V.P. Aralova-Petterson, S.S. Boim and the graphics by L.V. Soifertis, which have already become popular and symbolic for SOVCOM Gallery. The popularity of L.V. Soifertis is steadily growing from Auction to Auction, getting the prices for his works higher and higher.
There was a real fight flaring up for the sketch by N.K. Solomin to the painting “The Budenny Army Cavalrymen. The first Cavalry Army” (1958). The final price, having exceeded the assessed value in several times, reached 4300 USD. The works by classics of the Soviet art - N.M. Romadin “Window”, “Gagry” by A.A. Plastov and “Louring Morning” by S.V. Gerasimov - were sold by the prices considerably exceeding the assessed values for those.
The illustrations by V.G. Suteev to the book by S.V. Mikhalkov “My friend and me” (1939), displayed for sale at the Auction held by SOVCOM Gallery in small portions – several illustrations in each lot – were the great success.
