On February12, 2005 SOVCOM Gallery held an auction of the works of Soviet and Contemporary Art taking place in Katerina-City Hotel (6 Shlyuzovaya naberezhnaya, Bld. 1, Moscow).

On February12, 2005 SOVCOM Gallery held an auction of the works of Soviet and Contemporary Art taking place in Katerina-City Hotel (6 Shlyuzovaya naberezhnaya, Bld. 1, Moscow). The work “Stewardess” (canvas, oil, 96x96) by Y.I. Pimenov is a top lot of the auction.
Besides this the auction will include the works by famous Russian artists of the early 20th century: David Burliuk, Evgeny Lanceret, Konstantin Yuon; Soviet Art classics, academicians: Sergei Gerasimov, Witold Bialynicki-Birulia, Grigory Nissky, Fiodor Reshetnikov, Fiodor Bogorodsky, Boris Yakovlev, Arcady Plastov, Alexei and Sergei Tkachiov brothers; Victor Ivanov and Nikolai Romadin.
Some works put up for the auction were bought at “Sotheby’s”.
The auction of February 12 introduces a new direction of Gallery’s work: paintings by Vladimir Yakovlev, Anatoly Zverev and Alexander Tyshler, non-conformist artists of the 1960-1980s, as well as graphic works by Mikhail Romadin, a famous contemporary artist.
