Signed and dated lower left. Expertise of NINE im. P.M. Tretyakov. The presented portrait took part in the anniversary exhibition of K.A. Somov in 1969 at the State Russian Museum. The catalog for this exhibition lists the previous owners of the work. The first to be mentioned was the person being portrayed, N.S. Poznyakov. Then the work was in the collection of G.S. Torsuev and in the 1960s it moved to the collection of literary critic and translator Evgeniy Anatolyevich Gunst (1901-1993).
