Signature and date on the pedestal. Model of the sculpture installed at the USSR pavilion at the World Exhibition in New York in 1939-1940. The sculpture was exhibited at an exhibition about the history of pavilions of the USSR, the first part of which is dedicated to the participation of the Soviet country in international exhibitions “History of Soviet pavilions. Part I”, held in 2013 at the exhibition center “Worker and Collective Farm Woman” on Prospekt Mira. Published in the publication “Pavilions of the USSR at International Exhibitions” by N.O. Podgorskaya, 2013. Pp. 137. The sculpture “Worker with a Star” comes from the collection of the B.M. family. Iofan. It was presented by the sculptor personally to B.M. Iofan, who designed the USSR pavilion at the World Exhibition in New York (1939).
