25 years of successful work. The anniversary auction exhibition is open from March 7 to March 19.
Sovcom Auction House is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a large sale, which includes works from classical Russian and Soviet art to nonconformism, contemporary art, and even original dolls from the TV show "Good night, little ones!" A quarter of a century of Sovcom's activity has been marked by thematic auctions, record sales and numerous exhibitions. During this time, more than 70 thousand lots were sold. The upcoming auction on the 20th of March will be the 191st in the history of the auction house, will feature almost two hundred of the first names of Russian, Soviet and post-Soviet art. The auction catalogue includes real museum-quality masterpieces, including Mikhail Nesterov’s significant work "The Savior Not Made by Hands", Ivan Aivazovsky’s small canvas "Sailboat at Sea" and Vladimir Makovsky’s watercolor painting "Friends and Buddies". The auction also features Iosif Krachkovsky’s large reference landscape "Landscape with prickly pears. Feodosia" and Yuli Klever’s canvas, performed in the artist's recognizable style. The undisputed top lots of the auction are the works by Georgy Savitsky "Dahlias" and the gouache painting by Marc Chagall “Le clocher de l’eglise de Chambon-sur-Lac” ("Bell Tower of the Church of Chambon-sur-Lac"). The second half of the 20th century is represented in all the diversity of Soviet official and unofficial art. The "severe style" in the works by Geliy Korzhev, Igor Obrosov and Petr Ossovsky adjoins nonconformism in the works by Vladimir Nemukhin and Oskar Rabin. The section of contemporary art includes, among the other, a large painting by Alexander Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubosarsky, as well as Oleg Kulik's "I Bite America, America Bites Me". The auction catalogue also includes theater art drawings by Mir Iskusstva and book illustrations by Vladimir Lebedev and Konstantin Eliseev, and a large section of original photo prints by leading Soviet photojournalists. The variety of this auction is impressive, even the originals of the Khryusha and Stepashka dolls from the popular TV show found a place here. You can get acquainted with the lots of the upcoming auctions at the pre-auction exhibition, which is open from the 5th of March at 28 Shchepkina Street.
