Russian animal sculptor, collegiate assessor. Honorary free fellow of the Academy of Arts (1876). In 1872, for his work, he received the title of class artist of the 1st degree from the Academy of Arts. Since 1879 he was a member of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers. His works are presented in the exhibition of the Radishchev Museum, the National Art Museum of Belarus, and are stored in the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, etc.

The wax model was created by E.A. Lanceray in 1873 and presented at the Academic Exhibition, after which the rights to cast it in bronze were acquired by the F.Yu. Chopin Art Bronze Factory. The genre composition depicts a linear Cossack and a Cossack woman on horseback. Linear were the representatives of the Russian Cossacks who lived and served on the border fortifications of Russian troops in the Caucasus in the 18th-19th centuries.
